From Hero to Zero

So I finally got an answer from NTU and I didn't make it, but I'm seriously ok about it all. I am a little disappointed (how not to be right?) but I don't think it's the end of the world or anything. Anyway, since I wasn't very sure about the pofitability of the course that I was intending to take, I'll take the rejection as a little blessing in disguise. Wah! I'm damn positive. (:

Here are 2 videos for all the HEROES fans out there!! It's rather entertaining.

Heroes - Zeroes

Heroes - Zeroes 2

It may take a little long to load, but they are both worth it. I like the 2nd one better.

oh, so ugly

I have always thought that I was ok looking, you know, like most people. On some days I think I look nice, on most days I think I look decent and on others I wish I didn't have to leave the house.

BUT pictures that have been taken of me seem to be prove me wrong.

UGLY is the new PRETTY!!

I scare myself sometimes.

Working at Suntec with the Queen of Hell - Mavis, The Sperm (or was it blue) whale - Weiming and Non-tits - Ade was great (: The fair wasn't exactly popular so that left us with many hours to slack, talk, laugh and most importantly MAKE FUN OF OTHER PEOPLE. Wahh, I feel damn bad for laughing at Twitchcock, but just thinking about him makes me snigger.

Other then that, nothing much is happening in my life, so I leave you with some music (:

Scissor Sisters - Kiss you off

The newest video from their album Ta-dah. I love the Scissor Sisters and I love this video, very glam and stylish.

Mika - Love today

More happy music for this rainy Monday. One of my fav songs of his album.

Shiny Toy Guns - Le Disko

When I first heard this song I thought it was sung by Gwen Stefani or smthg. One of those songs that they always play at Beat! Oh and there's a Black widow spider-girl in the video. Mavis they totally copied your bondage costume.

He was never really my type

BUT I think he looks very very hot in this picture (:

(Click for full view)

I really like guys who look good in glasses, its quite sad that most of the guys I see in glasses are oily, smelly and geeky.

Where have all the hot spec-y men gone?

It's only funny when Indians make fun of Indians

I was just looking around YouTube and this is what I found (:

Andy Blitz - Visit to an Indian call centre

This one's cute, it also shows that Americans are really quite dumb.

Animated Indian man - 12 days of Indian Christmas

I know that this one is abit late since Christmas was soooo long ago, but it's still cute lah.

Two indian guys - Find the right Indian Girl

I really like this one, and it's sooooo true. No girl is ever good enough. Hahahah.

A lifetime ago I was 13

A Sec School Meme Thing.

1. Who did you hang out with?
Throughout the whole of sec school, there was Vanessa, Priscilla, Anne, Huishan, Joanna, Jocelyn, Luvena and Jing Hui.

2. What sports did you play?
HAHAHAHAH, sports. I have never liked sports, the only ones that I played in sec sch were those that we had to play during PE.

3. What kind of car did you drive?
I always wanted to drive a beetle.

4. It's Friday night, where were you?
In lower sec I was at home. In upper sec I was either with Shan or debating (:

5. Were you a party animal?
Nope. I only started clubbing after sec sch was over.

6. Were you considered a flirt?
No, I only had one bf and the whole school knew about it.

7. Were you in a band?
Well, I was in the school band.

8. Were you a nerd?
Nope. I was bored kid, hated alot of my subjects. Didn't study properly till 4 weeks before my O's.

9. Did you get suspended/ expelled?
No, just had alot of detention, esp for accounts.

10. What were the hottest songs among your school mates?
WESTLIFE!! OMG, I remember attending so many of their concerts/ events in lower sec. Hahaha.

11. Who were your fav teachers?
Well, DT was the most interesting and Mrs Leet was just such a sweetheart, very motherly (:

12. Where did you sit during lunch?
We sat in the first few rows in front of the toilet alot, I don't really know why.

13. What was your school's full name?
Outram Secondary School.

14. School mascot?
I don't think that Singaporean schools have mascots.

15. Did you go to prom?
Nope, we didn't have one.

16. If you could go back and do it again, would you?
No. It was soooooo long ago, everything has changed since then.

17. What do you remember most about graduation?
I gave a speech for my class (:

18. What was your fav class?
English, hands down. It was really the only class I was interested in.

19. Were you a mean senior?
No, I was quite nice.

20. Which was the most memorable place in your school?
The canteen. I always liked how our tables and benches were plastic, not shitty wood. There were many good times spent in the canteen - debate meetings, recesses, lunch breaks, well, break times were always good.

21. Where did you go most for lunch?
I really ate in the canteen alot, because Outram is on a secluded little hill, no time to go out for lunch and come back. But if school was over then we went to town alot or like Tiong Bahru mkt and Great World too.

22. Have you gained weight since then?
Nope, I was my fattest at 13. I've lost quite abit of weight since then.

23. What did you do after graduation?
We went back to studying. O levels weren't over yet!

24. Who was your form teacher?
Ms. Low Khiok Ghee for upper sec. I remember how she had a set of dresses - all in the same cutting, just with different prints, and she would wear them to school everyday. Like a little uniform of her own. And I hated her maths lessons.

25. Who will repost this after you?
Anyone who is bored enough is more then welcome to.

Ade: Yes! You'll soon hear it on the radio.
Mavis: I love it, it's so cute. (:
Gwynnnnnn: :) <3 you too.
Jules: Yes! I have decided to venture into the world of lyric writing, I'm getting abit bored with DJ-ing.
Sita: Hey (:

And don't you come back no more

[A Girl like you - Edwyn Collins]

I just watched Garden State, and it was amazing and beautiful and now belongs to the category of favourite romance movies - right next to The Notebook and Moulin Rouge.

I don't like romantic movies just because the kissing looks good, or because they make me cry, or because they have good looking actors/actresses (or whatever other dumb reasons ppl like romantic movies for).

The only reason I really like these movies is that they remind me of what it's like to be in love. To feel safe, like that moment in Garden state when Natalie Portman asked Zach How he was feeling and he replied Safe. I burst into tears at that exact moment because it was so fucking familiar.

Or to feel like nothing else in the world matters but being with that other person. Its rare that these feelings actually come by and when I think about it now, it was rare even in our long long relationship that I felt that way. People are always too caught up in with being busy, we're always running somewhere, not allowing ourselves to linger and feel in love.

Perhaps that's the one thing I wish we had done more, felt in love.

But I think I've recovered really well. I thought the day would never come, when I could look at our pictures/ listen to Snow Patrol and Graham Coxon's "See a better day" / walk past the park / many many other things, without bursting into tears.

I can cope with the very occasional outburst because of moments in movies like Garden State that bring back a wave of nostalgia, but other then that I'm good. I'm great actually, I'm beginning to wake up happy and content again. I don't know what day exactly this happened, but I just realised it a few days ago - I'm actually totally and completely over you. (:

It helps me see a better day
A voice inside is telling me to stay
I'm falling deeper everyday

House of jealous lovers

I love this little VisualDNA widget.. go on, click on it and read all about me. As if you're interested. Just click on it and get your own, its really quite true.

THE RAPTURE WAS LAST NIGHT (: (: (:

Because I have no peektures, I'm stealing Mavis's.

It was good, I was screaming along. There was this crotch grabbing girl who grabbed the crotch of the curly hair dude. She has single-handedly tarnished Singapore's wholesome name in the eyes of The Rapture, and I don't even think she's Singaporean.

So annoying. We kind of agreed that every concert has to have its own annoying person/people. WHY IS THAT??!?! Why can't everyone be normal and hot like us? It's not too much to ask for right.

The music that The Rapture spinned later had us leaving very early and chilling at the coffeeshop with fucking flying ants falling into our food, it just wasn't good. But there were many many strange people, my personal fav was the running guy, he was running/marching the whole time, on the same spot. I think at the end of the night there should be a crater to mark where he was run-marching.

Oh and we also came up with a new word SLUXY = slutty + sexy.

I think we should create a new trance song called Sluxy. The lyrics will be along the lines of "I am sexy. I am slutty. I am sluxy. Come fuck me. " Yes, trance music often has lyrics that require about 2 brain cells to write and another 2 to sing. I think I have that kind of capacity. I shall add a new profession to my growing list - trance lyricist.

yesterday

So, just in my last post I was waxing lyrical about my new job, well, I guess I spoke too soon. The work was too tough for me to handle lah, working 7 days a week on a very unflexible schedule is just not for me. At least I've learnt that and now can move on.

I already got a new job that at least promises to teach me alot about an industry that I know nothing about - and this time I shall not speak too soon as to say if I love it or loathe it. Let's just wait for awhile and see how this goes.

I believe that since I'm still young, I'm allowed to make foolish career choices and try out new things. It really does not mean that just because I took a diploma in mass comm, I have to be in the media industry. The technical aspects of it were good fun, but the thing that I did best at in the three years has to be speaking or talking or whatever else you want to call it. So why not a job that allows me to do just that. Not everyone can talk you know.. hahah, that's what my new boss told me. As long as its interesting and pays my bills.

Went for alldressedup's show on Friday night, was nice, I love watching fashion so it was good. Though I do hate the skirt-short hybrids and tulip skirts. I think they are both very very unflattering.

Speaking of fashion, I love reading gofugyourself.com and this has to be one of the most outrageous dresses EVER.

OMG LAH, wear dress for what???? Her shoes are nice though.

I need to go shopping! Just realised that I haven't bought anything in some time and there are some things that I really really want.

In a dreadful british accent: Shopping anyone? Yes? No? Shopping anyone? Yes? No?
